Jacana Energy offers various electricity tariffs for residential customers, small businesses and large commercial customers in the Northern Territory.

All tariffs and charges on this page are GST inclusive and effective from 1 July 2017.

Electricity tariffs

Domestic tariffs (regulated)

Tariff applicable to all customers under our Customer Contract using less than 750MWh of electricity per year for premises used for residential purposes. This tariff covers residential customers in the Northern Territory (excluding serviced apartments) and also:

  • Electricity used on vacant land zoned for residential purposes
  • Living premises of retirement villages (must be separately metered)

Caravan park resident tariff (regulated)

Tariff applicable to all customers who are supplied electricity by the proprietor of a caravan park who is:

  • a commercial – flat rate tariff customer; or
  • a commercial – time of use tariff customer.

Tariff applicable to all customers under our Customer Contract using less than 750MWh of electricity per year for premises used for non-residential purposes, including:

  • Electricity used on vacant land zoned for commercial purposes
  • Temporary supply (ie for building and construction purposes)
  • Motels, hotels, serviced apartments and any form of temporary accommodation
  • Shops, offices, warehouses and industrial / manufacturing plants
  • Mining enterprises
  • Farms
  • Excluding Public Benevolent Institutions

  • Motels, hotels, serviced apartments and any form of temporary accommodation
  • Shops, offices, warehouses and industrial / manufacturing plants
  • Mining enterprises
  • Farms
  • Excluding Public Benevolent Institutions

*Based on current 14.22% LGC and 7.01% STC liability rates supplied by the Clean Energy Regulator. Rates will change in line with liability changes.

In addition to the prices and charges outlined above, the cost of getting electricity to premises through the network of poles and wires is passed on to customers' bills on behalf of the network provider. Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) tariff

Business Hours (BH): Monday to Friday – 6am to 3pm; After Hours (AH): Monday to Friday – 3pm to 6am and Saturdays. After hours services are only available where the network provider has the resources available to complete the work. Work carried out on Sundays or Public Holidays may attract additional fees.
