Scam alert: Be on the lookout for fraudulent calls and claims

We are receiving multiple reports that telephone scams are occurring within the Northern Territory. Callers claiming to be from Jacana Energy are threatening to immediately disconnect power if large sums of money are not paid. We would like to remind our customers to be cautious when giving out their personal details or banking information.

We would like to remind our customers to be cautious when giving out their personal details or banking information.

Jacana Energy follows strict policies for debt collection including multiple attempts to reach our customers through various means. Our staff members always identify themselves and anything we do in terms of collection is through your bill, official letters or done by our specialist credit management team. We would never be aggressive nor threaten our customers with jail time if overdue amounts are not paid.
