In some circumstances you may need a licensed electrician to provide a Certificate of Compliance.
Examples where you need a Certificate of Compliance
- Reconnecting a property after a natural disaster (cyclone, fire or flood).
- Building a new property.
- Making major modifications to an existing property.
- Installing solar panels.
How to get a Certificate of Compliance
- Call your electrician to inspect your property and issue the certificate.
- Contact Power and Water on 1800 245 092 and tell them you have a Certificate of Compliance. They will need to sight the certificate either via email or physically (usually by leaving the certificate in the meter box).
- Power and Water will then send someone out to connect (or reconnect) your power.
- If you’ve built a new property or completed major works, contact Jacana Energy to set up an account.
