Alec Purkis joined Jacana Energy in February 2023 as Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance. In October 2025, he commenced acting in the roles of Chief Risk Officer and Company Secretary.
With over a decade of experience in governance, risk and assurance, Alec brings deep expertise across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Jacana Energy, he spent more than 10 years with Big Four consulting firms, delivering professional services to a diverse client base.
Born and raised in the Northern Territory, Alec holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Charles Darwin University. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.
