Following the NT Government’s electricity pricing reforms, government customers as defined in the electricity pricing order are charged cost reflective tariffs. These customers are not subsidised by the NT Government’s community service obligation and are no longer eligible for the subsidised standard commercial tariff.
Who this affects
Northern Territory Government and Australian Government customers are charged the applicable government tariff from 1 July 2025.
Local government councils will be charged cost reflective tariffs from 1 July 2026. We will contact impacted local government customers when these changes are applied.
There are limited exclusions, including sites on residential tariffs.
