Here are some ways to manage your loved one’s electricity quickly and simply.

What would you like to do?
To keep power on at the property, we can move the account into a new name. Just give us a call on 1800 522 262 so we can get a few details from you like, your name, date of birth, phone number and email address. We will ask you for the service address and the original account holder’s name including the account number (it’s okay if you don’t have this, but it always helps if you do).
Once we’ve changed the name on the account and updated your details:
- You’ll need to create a new log in for My Account
- A final bill will be issued to the estate of the original account holder.
- You’ll no longer have access to any bill history, as you won’t be able to see this on your new account.
Before you call make sure the person who is taking over the account is the person who calls or is at least nearby. We will need to talk to them to confirm account set up.
To change, add, remove or update a joint account holder or authorised contact, you'll need to get in touch with us.

We will ask for a few details, including:
- Your full name
- Account number
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Email address
- Address (of the property being updated).
Should you no longer need power at the property, we can arrange to have the account closed. Anyone is able cancel the service and we will send the final bill to the estate.
If you have a particular email or postal address where you’d like the bill to be sent, we can organise that too. The account can be paid out by anyone.

We can help organise temporary supply of energy to the household, before closing out the account. To do this, we’ll just need a few things from you, including:
- Details of Executors (this is so we can change the Mail Title to ‘Estate of…’)
- Details of new postal address (if required)
