We offer various electricity tariffs for residential customers
Think of tariffs as the amount you pay for the electricity you use. Residential rates for electricity across the Northern Territory are regulated and Jacana Energy supports these rates across multiple tariffs.

Residential tariffs (regulated)
This tariff is applicable to all customers under our Customer Contract using less than 750MWh of electricity per year for premises used for residential purposes. This tariff covers residential customers in the Northern Territory (excluding serviced apartments) and also:
- Electricity used on vacant land zoned for residential purposes
- Living premises of retirement villages (must be separately metered)

This tariff provides assurance that you get charged the same rate any time, any day.
Conditions:
- This is the default tariff applied for new residential accounts.
- The property connected to this tariff should be used for residential purpose only.
- Power usage is billed monthly or quarterly.

This tariff is best suited if your power usage is mostly between 6pm and 6am, during weekdays and all weekends, as a cheaper kWh rate is applied between these times. A higher rate is applied to 'peak' times between 6am and 6pm during weekdays including public holidays.
Conditions:
- Applies to certain power meter models only. Any upgrade may incur additional fees.
- Customers can opt in at any time.
- This tariff applies for a minimum of 12 months.
- The connected property should be used for residential purposes only.
- Power usage is billed monthly or quarterly.

Please note: Switch to Six tariff does not guarantee lower bills compared to the Standard Residential tariff (Everyday Home). Costs are dependent on the connected property's usage and circumstances. Please assess carefully if this tariff is right for you.
This tariff is also known as 'pay-as-you-use'. Prepaid credits allow you more control of your energy costs.
Conditions:
- Applies to pre-paid meters only.
- Any change to the meter may incur additional fees.

This tariff applies if you live and operate your business from your home. As a home-based business owner, you can be assured that your power usage is charged at a lower residential rate in-part, or in-full.
Conditions:
- This is the default tariff if the property is used for both residential and business.
- The standard residential rate (see above) is applied to the first 45 kWh per day.
- The commercial rate is applied only if usage exceeds 45 kWh per day.
- Power usage is billed monthly or quarterly.

Electricity service charges
There are extra network fees associated with some electricity services. These charges are passed on from the network provider, Power and Water. We then add our admin fee.

Caravan park resident tariff (regulated)
This tariff is applicable to all customers who are supplied electricity by the proprietor of a caravan park who is:
- a commercial – flat rate tariff customer; or
- a commercial – time of use tariff customer.
