Life support customers

Our unique environment means power outages are more common here than other parts of Australia. That’s why we work a bit harder to keep our customers who rely on life support safe.

If you’re on life support, it is very important that you contact us immediately, so we can put you on our Life Support Customer Register.

Being on the register means we prioritise you if the power goes out, and not just because of cyclones and bad weather. It also means Power and Water (your electricity network service provider), must tell you if they have any planned outages that will affect you.

 

How to register

The first and most important step is to contact us. Simply give us a call on 1800 522 262 or email customercare@jacanenergy.com.au. We will put your details on the Life Support Customer Register immediately.

Check with your medical practitioner to confirm that you or someone living with you has a medical condition that requires any of the life support equipment listed below:

  • Oxygen concentrator
  • Intermittent peritoneal dialysis machine
  • Kidney dialysis machine
  • Chronic positive airways pressure respirator
  • Crigler Najjar syndrome phototherapy equipment
  • Ventilator for life support
  • Any other equipment a registered medical practitioner certifies is required for life support.

 

Download the Medical confirmation form for registering your life support equipment. You'll need to send this to customercare@jacanenergy.com.au as soon as you can.

 

Your medical practitioner will need to complete, sign and stamp the Medical practitioner details and Medical condition confirmation sections on the Life Support Customer register application form.
